Hello, my name is Robert Kaelin and I am in my senior year at the University of Utah studying Sports Management focusing on recruiting, scouting, and the operations side of Collegiate sports. I’m in my second year as a Recruiting Intern with University of Utah football and before that I spent a few seasons as a High School football coach at Skyline High School.
I have always loved sports, ever since a young age. When anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up my answer was always a collegiate athlete. So when circumstances and injury made it almost impossible to achieve that dream, my dream needed to be altered. Though not as an athlete, a career and a life in sports could still be possible. After a High School injury ended both my baseball and football career, I turned to coaching and soon fell in love with teaching fundamentals, developing strategies, and learning the ins and outs of the sports industry. I soon had the opportunity to be involved in the recruiting and operations side of both those sports and that is where my professional philosophy was formed.
Since my youth my talents and strengths have been visible and remain the same today. I am organized, caring, hard-working, motivating, a great listener, and someone who not only Is willing to push myself but someone who enjoys getting the best out of myself and those around me. I have used these talents and strengths as I coach whether with young children or adults. My talents and strengths also coincide perfectly with my beliefs and values. I believe that there is no alternative to hard-work, that caring about others is the most important thing in this life, and that pushing yourself to be your best self, and assisting others to do the same, is one of the keys to success.
I love how sports teach you lessons that you may not learn anywhere else and I thoroughly enjoy helping others realize those lessons both from a coaching and a managerial standpoint. My goal is to continue assisting others in realizing those life lessons and to continue learning them throughout my professional career. Along with that goal, I hope to push myself in becoming all that I can be both personally and professionally. I have always been able to get the absolute best out of myself and that won’t change as I continue my pursuit in my chosen career path.
